2012 Eclipses and a 3,000 Year-Old Murder Mystery Solved at Last!

Love Gone Sour? A Throne Beckons

by Jude Cowell

It's been known for some time that the wife of Ramses III planned to have her husband assassinated so that her son could become pharoah in his stead. But was the plot successful? Turns out it was.

Egyptologists have removed bandages from the ancient neck of Ramses III to reveal 'twas a sharp knife did the deed.

Watch out, Washington, for even 3,000 year-old crimes must eventually come to light and posting this feels as if I'm cooperating here with the current Solar Eclipse (which occurred on November 13, 2012 @21 Scorpio 56) for both Solar and Lunar eclipses tend to uncover hidden secrets--even those with ancient and distinguished petigrees!

Scorpio: Sign of Secrets, Betrayals, and Criminal Acts

For a peek at the November 2012 Solar Eclipse horoscope set for Washington DC with some Political Astrology details to describe it, visit Stars Over Washington where you'll also find the horoscope of its 'bookend' Lunar Eclipse of November 28th as well.

Year 2012 is ending under the rays of a difficult YOD planetary pattern of crisis and turning points which involves an aspect between Saturn (restriction, loss) and Pluto (power and control--together they often bring cruelty, brutality, and harsh conditions as on 9/11/01)--and directing their energies toward Jupiter Rx in Gemini, sign of young people such as the students of the Sandy Hook elementary School who were innocent victims of the Saturn-Pluto duo of brutality.

Can good come from evil? Well, Washington now speaks of "doing something" legislatively about America's culture of violence and how whatever is done must be done quickly before the impetus runs out. This is a common feeling with a YOD influence: that one must take corrective action while the opportunity is offered.

As a parent, and now grandparent, I hope legislators will ward off the politically powerful NRA long enough to put into place more common-sense laws such as closing the gun show loophole for our children and women in particular need protection in this paternalistic, testosterone-driven society.

Hope for the Hopeless? (music video)

At last I thought to return to YouTube to search for Brett Dennen's performance on David Letterman from a while back. You see, when the music (and the beat) combine with apples-of-gold-in-pictures-of-silver lyrics that actually say something on behalf of human kind, the song often becomes a perennial favorite of mine.

Here, Heaven is performed live on Letterman and if you're unfamiliar with the song's message, perhaps you'll give a listen!

This song debuted pre-Occupy days, of course, but its message seems quite applicable to 99%/1% issues to this particular blogger whose nature is to operate within a Common Good persuasion.

Plus, here's another version of Heaven which I posted about 3 years ago including an interview with Brett Dennen if you're curious.

Now updated: Stars Over Washington. Politics. Tiresome. Agreed. But we look away from the varmints at our and our children's peril. Plus, through the lens of Astrology we may spy many squirmy little things wiggling behind the door...

So where have I been blogging in the last four months?

Mainly at my Political Astrology website Stars Over Washington where you don't have to speak Astrologese to read what the stars have to say about Politics and politicians! Today's update: the natal horoscope (shown) of the GOP's anti-tax-hike political strategist Grover Norquist which will be 'hit' by the December 10, 2011 Lunar Eclipse in chatty, news-reporting Gemini--near US natal Mars.

As you know, all eclipses are considered 'wild cards' of the Universe and have the option to uncover secrets and scandals so stay tuned for that!

All Political Astrology is Mundane Astrology but not all Mundane Astrology is Political Astrology.

Eric Cantor, debt talks, and astro-blogging

The continuing 'debt talks' and debt default negotiations currently going on at the White House between Starve the Beast Republicans and President Obama have consumed what little blogging time I've had this week so I have not been hanging about here at 2Hrs lately. Mea culpa!

Of course, if America defaults on her debts on August 2, 2011 and the US credit rating is downgraded, no blogging may occur depending on results of the alleged dire consequences for our nation's economy and for the daily lives of our citizens. All the turmoil makes the economic situation a huge topic for bloggers, journalists, and pundits of all stripes which makes it easy as pie to find pro'n'con articles, blog posts, and op-eds by tossing a browser in any direction on the Web.

Then yesterday it occurred to me that a peek at the natal chart of Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor might provide an interesting cache of insights into the debt talks and what are said to be huffy 'walk outs' from the White House meetings, another of which occurred or will occur today, July 15, 2011. (A meeting, hopefully not a walk-out.)

Many of my own opinions about the economic crisis now roiling the US capital (and markets) are already formed at my advanced age yet I do like to snag further information on such topics from folks like Thom Hartmann, a progressive broadcaster of good repute, and my favorite go-to guy.

In a similar news vein, Democracy Now! fills the bill for gaining a clearer view of events than what corporate mainstream media provides us, and you may wish to check out Amy Goodman's excellent reporting there if you haven't.

Videos of current and past broadcasts are available on both sites.

So if either of you wish to 'get to know' Rep. Eric Cantor a little better (or think perhaps you should for apparently he'll be with us a while) through an astrological lens, try my latest post with his natal horoscope shown over @ Stars Over Washington where Cantor's 'special-task/crisis/crossroads' YOD pattern is detailed along with his my-way-or-the-highway Mars/Uranus conjunction in Virgo, sign of The Critic.

Oh, and Mr. Cantor's natal Pluto in Virgo sets off two of Mr. Obama's natal midpoints involving feisty Mars. Follow the link in my SO'W post to my other Political Astrology blog Jude's Threshold and read the midpoint pictures formed plus, this is where I've written about Mr. Cantor's Sun in Gemini--Moon in Sagittarius personality blend: and yes, Eric Cantor is a quite 'live-wire'!

January 2011: still blogging about America

~
Happy Belated New Year 2011 to you and yours!

Today I've been blogging at my Political Astrology blog Stars Over Washington with little chance to consider topics other than the Jan 8, 2011 tragedy in Tucson, AZ against Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and others, the Moment of Silence held at 11:00 am est this morning in Washington DC, and the Right vs Left rhetoric about violence in the US which is being used now as yet another tactic to keep the American people divided and conquered on these issues...which is meant to keep those in power - in power.

So if you dare, you may wish to read today's post on such events which includes an image of the horoscope of Congress' secret session of March 13, 2008 when members discussed what they'd do for their own security when the people revolted (as noted at the time by Rep. Ron Paul) against congressional sorriness.

This secret session preceded Financial Collapse 2008 by weeks, as you see by its date, and I believe it has implications for the issues being discussed about our current tragedy and subsequent security changes which are said to be in discussion in the House this very week. It's tragic that a young man's frustration and distrust of government led to violence with political 'crosshairs' and 'reload' references encouraging the mentally and emotionally unstable among us to take action.

Now on a much better topic: you may notice a new link in the Two Hours sidebar, upper right, helpfully leading you to the VitaCost website where excellent deals on vitamins, supplements, and other health-improving items may be found!

Been busy w blogs, cats, and Art - howbowchu?

~

Whew! Today I have updated my political limerick blog Lim's Limericks with Mr. A. Cat's new ditty concerning the November 2010 elections. You may notice that Lim's Limericks is proud to have two Followers - well, it says three but one is me. And if I can figure out how to repair that mistake, it will properly reflect two extremely discerning readers.

Not that I'm no fan of Mr. A. Cat, or of my roomie Lim, the famous feline chef who prepares all my fishy din dins unless and until he's in a snit of miffdom to get his way about something. Then I can starve for all Lim cares! Are all cats despots such as Lim? Most are, I think. Libby Kitty has certainly been on a tear lately: her behavior has turned quite unexpected. As I type she's snoozin' in her newest favorite location: behind the microwave. Odd, if you ask me.

Also updated today is my Political-Mundane Astrology blog Stars Over Washington with a post linking you to a list of campaign donors to our special-interest-promoting congressional candidates compliments of the excellent Mother Jones along with info on the upcoming and difficult transit of Pluto opposing US natal Sun (Sun = the leader in Mundane charts.)

As for Two Hours today, the list of Mythology of Astrology's smaller bodies has been expanded by one: the very interesting and hauntingly musical Orpheus. Simply scroll down the sidebar for the list (it's just after Astrology Faves.)

Plus, the detail/image you see above is from one of my newer drawings, Aubergine, who is actually one of the glamorous pin-up girls in a new Cosmic Lilith Art Calendar 2011 so check our her full portrait if you wish!

What do Greta Garbo and Yasser Arafat have in common?

~

Two Worlds Collide: A Place Where Hollywood and Palestine Meet!

To answer my own question, and besides the fact that both Garbo and Arafat have passed into the Great Beyond, I was amused to find that today's Sun-Moon combination is shared natally by Greta Garbo and Yasser Arafat. Who knew?

This means that some facets of their personalities were the same or very similar in relation to their Sun (male principle) and Moon (feminine principle), a combo of energies relating to relationships on the conscious (Sun) and unconscious (Moon) levels. Relationships go better when these realms are integrated within the personality - another good reason to Know Thyself by having a natal chart consultation!

The Sun Virgo-Moon Taurus blend is also shared natally by Mother Teresa and Peter Sellers, also Great Beyonders!

But today, August 30, 2010, is sufficient unto itself and is quite alive with relationships and such, so let's take a peek at its energies:

Sun Vir-Moon Tau is a double Earth combo indicating its natives possess a down-to-earth quality of practicality; its shadow side gives deep fears of chaos and a loss of control. (Is this part of why Garbo decided she vahnted to be alone? She became quite a 'nun' during her lifetime which easily reminds me of Mother Teresa and the Image below!)

Sun Vir-Moon Tau gives one an excellent reasoning ability, common sense, resourcefulness, and a capacity for hard work. However, there is a tendency to be too rational and to have a wide materialistic streak with a 'black and white' type of thinking. There may be an addiction to routine and great stubbornness which appears when hierarchical relationships are ignored by others. How imperious!

"Actions speak louder than words" is a good motto for this sensible combo.

'Images for Integration: A nun finishes up in the refectory, and then takes the keys to her Bentley and drives off to see the new art exhibition...A sculpture of still life.' (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles & Suzi Harvey.)

Happy Practical Monday, dear reader!

April 2, 2010: YOD patterns for desperate situations

~~
Whew! I just got my socks knocked off by reading Julie Demboski's God's To-Do List column now posted for April 2, 2010.

You see, chart-studying and blogging time in the last 2 weeks has been brief around here, yet I had wanted to delve more deeply into the current (yet waning) transiting YOD pattern (Finger of God: 2 or more planets sextile at the base and inconjunct or pointing to an apex planets/s; in this case the apex planet is Saturn, now re-crossing US natal MC in the Sibly chart - MC 00Lib53; Saturn is the planet of government, law, and business...this 'personalizes' the YOD for the US and makes it angular - able to manifest in the outer world, 10th cusp.)

As you know, YODs indicate a special task or purpose, a crisis, and/or a critical situation where square pegs must fit into round holes. They may have a 'genius' flavor to them as well for they facilitate the 'thinking outside the box' that can make the unwieldy peg fit.

Astrologer Erin Sullivan was the first person to alert me to the meaning and importance of YODs when she told of her realization that they symbolize the silver book marker of the Torah - a 'finger' showing where the next reading should be taken up. Thus the pattern's sacred and karmic flavor.

Often a harbinger of unfinished 'family myths' (for descendants to 'take up' in their lifetimes and complete, another good reason to know about one's natal chart!), and possibly pointing to health threats in a chart, we might expect mundane charts to show a desperate situation or two where YODs exist. Perhaps its 'special task or purpose' is more emphasized in national charts - and we definitely have a plethora of desperate situations to wrestle with.

Now you may be tempted to think, how bad can this YOD be when the base is a lovely sextile between Mercury and Neptune? Well, besides the general descriptions of Mercury/Neptune as 'deceit in communications' or 'messages/thoughts that inspire', etc, we may look to Michael Munkasey for political and business implications of Mercury/Neptune...

Leaders who can communicate their visions of growth and progress; a legislature that controls the excesses and dreams of its leaders; an enterprise that debates about its future; weak or artificial plans that must be rethought or redesigned; a leader who mesmerizes people with delusions of progress or growth (yowch! the president resembles that remark but so do other politicians - jc); an inability to bring reality into planning and productivity.

And what does Noel Tyl say about the midpoint picture formed by the apex-Saturn YOD which is now, thankfully, passing?

Mercury/Neptune = Saturn: a gloomy reaction to real or imagined circumstances; looking at the downside of things which may or may not be valid.

Now when you read Julie's column for April 2 you'll notice her mention of today's Moon reaching 00Sag. And when Luna enters Sagittarius, she will form for a while today the base of a YOD with Saturn and pointing to an apex Mercury 00Tau+ - two interlaced YODs to thicken the plot!

The combo of Moon/Saturn = an exercise of power by the common people; institutions that oversee and coordinate commerce, agriculture, or business conditions; statistics on production efficiency; an inability of an enterprise to grasp the intentions or needs of the people; lack of output or production from manufacturing and agricultural sectors of the economy; practical vs theoretical economics.

(As always with mdpt pics, any, all, or none may apply.)

And the picture:

Moon/Saturn = Mercury: promotion of ideas on how to offer better financial or material protections; education that teaches practical business approaches or routines; prudence; maturity; a sense of duty. (Ebertin; Tyl; Munkasey.)

Well, I just finished keeping half an ear on what President Obama was saying in North Carolina (C-SPAN Live) and the above pictures and YODs came to mind. But as far as your personal life goes, please check out Julie's article for her clear insights and suggestions because with Julie, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Mercury, our most important planet for love

Mercury, brainy planet of thinking processes, communications, and the senses, is not often thought of as the most important planet in a natal chart. But it is.

Elsewhere I've referred to speedy Mercury as the 'tofu planet' since it tends to soak up the flavors of whatever planets it contacts in a chart.

Take Mercury conjunct Pluto, for instance. George W. Bush as a 1st house (Self) conjunction in Leo of Mercury and Pluto, a pair which together can indicate mental obsessions, cruel speech, and spying tendencies. One of the obsessions is, I suspect, tremendous mental focus (Mercury) on acquiring wealth and possessions (Pluto) and Pluto is god of the Underworld, thus he doesn't care how he attains his desires - or whom it beggars.

Well, W certainly demonstrated such things while he played president, but lack of intelligence wasn't actually one of his shortcomings in spite of how he was marketed and critiqued. Deep (Pluto) thinking (Mercury) is one of the signatures of Mercury/Pluto along with propaganda meant to sway the thinking of others; the conj posited in his natal 1st house shows that Mercury/Pluto was he.

On a lighter mercurial note, expert astrologer Beth Turnage says that Mercury is important for making love last in relationships, so check out Beth's excellent article, for if you've ever had a relationship where communication or its lack caused major problems, you already know the importance of mercurial compatibility in relationships.

And as they say, sexual attraction begins in the brain!

If you're interested in knowing what certain big bankers think of their own (lack of) culpability in the financial crisis, read this interview between Der Spiegel and the president of Deutsche Bank who 'justifies' by saying that there would be no banking system without risks!

Why, his masterful end-run around taking any personal responsibility for the state's rescue of the world's lucrative banking industry is alone worth a read. And Deutsche Bank had offices in the World Trade Center...interesting, especially if you see the 2008 financial collapse shakedown and heistings of the public treasury as part of a timeline issuing from the attacks of 9/11/01.

Now where did you say the gold bars stored in the WTC now sit?

Plus, did you know that moneybags Jupiter will Station Direct on October 13 @ 17AQ10; 12:34:18 am edt in Washington, DC, so check out my post with its strong (Stationing) Jupiter, planet of abundance that on various levels signifies in Mundane Astrology: the general, guru, sage, judge, comedian, ideologue, and sometimes...the Republican Party.

Reagan's 'Afghanistan Day' haunts a cynical world

Mainstream media now reports that Pres. Obama has lost the majority of his support from US citizens for American expansion into Afghanistan. 18 years after Reagan touted 'Afghanistan Day' George Bush and Dick Cheney preemptively invaded Iraq; most people now recognize what a wild goose chase that was, though it was promoted to us as a golden egger of great humanitarian merit which would deflect an imminent threat to North America.

Yes, on March 21, 1985, day of a New Moon @ Aries Point, Pres. Ronald Reagan proclaimed 'March 21' to be 'Afghanistan Day' and Reagan's address on the occasion makes some interesting points that Pres. Obama and his military team might do well to recall as they plan in 2009 and beyond.

But surely Proclamation 5309 was merely a thinly veiled scene in yet another Capitol Hill Political Theater production meant to aggravate the Kremlin, hide US interference in 'their' war, and feign an objective, humanitarian point of view concerning the heavy-handed Soviet occupation of a sovereign Middle Eastern nation, you chide.

As you know, Afghanistan does have terrifically lucrative resources that support many projects for those organizers not bothered by where backers' funding comes from...the Afghan drug trade.

1985...1986...Afghanistan's American-proclaimed 'joyful celebration' continues to March 21, 1987:

Here's an exchange between the *chairman of the Afghan Community in America, Pres. Reagan, and Sen. Gordon J. Humphrey (NH) on March 20, 1987 concerning Afghanistan and former Pres. Carter's critiques of Reagan's Middle East policies.

Seems Mr. Carter had leveled his 'trashing' of Reagan from a safe distance abroad, an oft-used tactic in political circles. (Blogging gnats in Georgia use it, too, for a comforting, if delusional, sense of safety from the raptor's gaze.)

Speaking of Reagan

In late June this year I posted an article which contains one of what this reluctant astrologer considers to be the primary astrological Things To Know about Pres. Reagan, especially in the financial realm, so here's a link in case you missed it - I knew it was You, Reagan (my main theme on the matter of Reagan policies and actions in the 1980s which have led America directly to 2008's Financial Collapse.

Reagan made mention of the Soviet's frustration at their 'inability to crush the spirit of the **Afghan Freedom Fighters and are increasingly turning their military might against the civilian population of the country, forcing hundreds of thousands more innocent people into exile away from their homeland. Reports of Soviet atrocities and human rights violations are increasingly gaining the attention of the world's public." (Including by way of your remarks, Mr. President.)

On March 21, 1985, transiting Neptune 3Cap33 was conjunct Reagan's natal Mars 3Cap59 (1st house), a transit when one's efforts are undermined or disregarded; deception and confusion are in the environment, and one engages in impractical or unrealistic endeavors; in fact, fraud may be lurking in the wings.

Ever the idealistic Jupiterian, Mr. Reagan, goes on to speak dramatically of "Karmal's tenuous and brutal hold on power..." (not 'Karzai', silly...'Karmal'), and he gives a list of the things which the UN General Assembly had resolved on the Afghanistan situation/Soviet quagmire - including immediate withdrawal of all foreign troops.

That the world has turned cynical on the question of sending invading forces into Afghanistan seems understandable to me and one supposes that such a well-read president as Barack Obama could not possibly be surprised by the waning support of US citizens intent upon their own dire battles here at home and not at all interested in creating more refugees in a faraway, over-victimized land.

So my wish is that Pres. Obama would read (or re-read) Mr. Reagan's time-capsuled remarks of March 21, 1985, then repeat, and (most importantly) apply them to America's military decisions in 2009, and going forward.

A Final Plea: I love and admire the people of Afghanistan, and am very sorry my government and others continue to meddle in their affairs while bombing them into oblivion and chaos.

Sending more troops to Afghanistan is a very bad idea.

Just look at the Sabian Symbol of power-manipulator Pluto's degree on March 21, 1985, which describes what US and other troops are facing there once again:

Pluto @ "5 Scorpio"..."A Massive and Rocky Shore."

* chairman Habibullah Mayar.
** As you know, it's 'Afghan Freedom Fighters' when the label is in America's interests and follows the slant of our propaganda at the time, 'insurgents' when it isn't and doesn't.

Astrologer Lynn Hayes on Health Care Reform

~~~
In 2005, when I first began blogging on Politics reflected through the lens of Astrology, one of my very first online Astrology friends was the gracious and expert astrologer, Lynn Hayes.
Well, now I'm posting this shout-out to Lynn's article of August 19, We need real healthcare reform not more insurance, a sentiment I share, and one which would seem to be a given, now wouldn't it?
At least a 'given' in a normal world with less political opportunism and a ban on the cynical use of people's easily swayed emotions, that is.
Image is an illustration of 'Jimson weed in bloom' from an Associated Content article on avoiding the Deadly Nightshades in your diet, which is a very good thing to do if you're sensitive to them.
If you have any itchy skin conditions or your tummy grumbles against you, you may wish to check out the possibility that regular nightshade consumption may be part of the problem. That's a valuable health hint from me to you, if you'll take it!
US Mars Return in Gemini: Wednesday 8.12.09
~~~
About every two years, Mars returns to the precise degree, minute, and second of his natal position, whether in the birth chart of an individual, an event, or a nation.

We'd be nothing but limp noodles in a corner without the action, energy, desire nature, and the impulse to be of planet Mars, says Astrology. Bad analogy that, since someone would have to fashion the noodles in the first place, but you get my point.

The US has had approximately one-hundred-sixteen Mars Returns to date, give or take (233 years old divided by 2-year-cycle = 116.)

Well, this Wednesday, August 12, 2009, is just such an occurrence when America experiences her Mars Return 2009 so check it out, if you may.

A Mars Return indicates the universe's cosmic clock timing a new cycle of activity starting up - when the two-year cycle begins depends on when it first began in the radix (natal) chart. Thus, any return chart issues from, or is based upon, a natal chart. In my post, I'm using America's Gemini Rising chart, aka the 'Franklin' chart, with Uranus ascending.

Having our natal Mars in Mercury-ruled Gemini, an Air sign, indicates much mental energy, which I think describes America to a T. And Mars placed in the sign of multiplicity/duplicity gives Americans a tendency toward working two or more jobs which is mighty handy these days under the economic circumstances - if you can find or keep them.

Two-Car Garage = Mars in Gemini!

Both Mercury and Mars relate to transport, automobiles, and other modes of transportation. If there are still two cars parked in your garage, congratulations.

Aggressiveness is also part of the Mars-in-Gemini picture, and I suppose we-the-people can admit to resembling that remark, along with our love of debate, and a talent for resourcefulness.

Yes, we're a restless bunch of dudes and dudettes, aren't we?

Plus, Gemini is the sign of Eternal Youth glorying in his love affair with his own reflection. Uh oh! Bellybutton gazing is being performed as I type, and every time I study an Astrology chart relating to...America!

Solar Eclipse in Capricorn Jan 15, 2010

~~~
Perpetual War for Perpetual War
By Jeff Huber
The American warmongery, a confluence of Big War, Big Energy, Big Jesus, Big Israel, Big Brainwash, and Big Brother, is trying to entangle us in a state of constant armed conflict that will carry on into the next American century. There's no need for anyone to challenge our hegemony; all they have to do is sit back and watch us collapse under the weight of our own stupidity.
~:~
Now that's why I've been saying these last several years. America is the biggest bully on anybody's block. And if we don't have an enemy, we'll create one or two.
Puts me in mind of one of my favorite (no longer together) musical groups, Crowded House, when they sang, Chocolate Cake which was about American greed, overeating, and about our 'sinking like a stone.'
And stones are from the realm of Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, so perhaps you'd consider reading my just-published article-with-chart-image concerning the Solar Eclipse of Jan 15, 2010 at '26 Capricorn' - it conjuncts US natal Pluto, planet of power and wealth.
What you won't see there are the midpoint pictures I neglected to type into the post, so I'll type them for you now. They're part of a prominent YOD pattern ('Finger of God') in the chart, and as such relate to crises, major adjustments, and potentially to health issues...all involve the Solar Eclipse and Venus, which is conjunct the Eclipse.
Sun/Uranus = Mc: major events in support of big plans; hopeful triumph for the ego; an excitable or restless person with far-reaching plans; reformers, inventors, technicians; sudden events or emotional upheavals.
Moon/Uranus = Mc: great excitement and energy; ambitious aims; readiness for action; taking a hand or interfering suddenly; determination; potential gains; sudden change of plans.
Venus/Uranus = Mc: an affair breaking open to view; getting involved with someone quickly; artistic success; engagement.
Health All Over the Place - and in the Chart:
With asteroid Hygeia (health) Rx at Midheaven, the previously mentioned YOD pattern having a health connotation, and wounded healer Chiron at Ic, we may think of Health Care Reform, yet the 12 North Eclipse itself may relate more to a prominent person's health failing in some way - at least on one level.
And with Capricorn being the sign of law, business, and government, the 12N Series will be keeping the White House busy and the citizens well-disposed toward the administration, for the most part. (Sour-grapers notwithstanding, that is.)
Actually, you may wish to read the Sun Cap-Moon Cap blend info, too, and find out the names of a few famous persons with this ambitious combo in their natal charts.
Well, there are many more details to be found by clicking either or both link/s above, so I hope you do. The posts are written in reasonably good English, so you mustn't over-fret if you don't speak astrologese.
After all, I don't spend these hours studying horoscopes and blogging about them because I have nothin' else to do, ya know. But that's just how practical Capricorns roll - we have a need to be useful!
'Mystic Rectangle' Lunar Eclipse in AQ: Aug 5, 2009
~~~

Yes, the chart for the Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius on August 5, 2009 contains a planetary pattern called a 'Mystic Rectangle' which assures us that this particular Eclipse has more going on than meets the eye!

Mysticism and practicality may work together in early August, so if spiritual matters are calling your name - and perhaps like me you're an '11:11er' - you may wish to check out the details for August 5's Eclipse.

Now you know that a Lunar Eclipse is a Full Moon while a Solar Eclipse is a New Moon; regular lunations such as New and Full Moons - as well as their counterparts, the Eclipses - indicate that something begun at the New Moon (in this case, the Solar Ecl of July 21, 2009, @ 29Can27) will culminate with the Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse about two weeks later...August 5, 2009 (or Aug 6, depending on your time zone.)

The fact that the lunations of July 21 and August 5 are Eclipses adds fuel and umph to their fires, and indicate that their influences will last longer than regular lunations. A more public realm of manifestation is also possible with Eclipses.

Let's look at the Aug 5 Lunar Eclipse's Sun Leo-Moon AQ blend of energies, shall we?

This is a Fire-Air combo, quite the 'live wire' and 'eternal youth,' so full of exciting ideas and plans. Others are persuaded and impressed by them as they easily communicate new ideas to all around them. Fire-Air isn't known for emotional intelligence, however; plus, there's a tendency to scatter energies until dissipation becomes a problem.

Sun Leo-Moon AQ: aristocratic; friendly and truthful; theatrical and proud, here is a broad-minded and extreme individualist kind of fellow. A noble bearing is marked along with deep convictions, spiritual strength, and a talent for courageous leadership. But this can be the 'law unto oneself' blend, too.

As with all Sun-Moon combos, the masculine Sun (consciousness) and feminine Moon (unconsciousness) aspects of the psyche should be integrated and synthesized for best development and use. More details may be found in the:

'Images for Integration: The king of a large, prosperous empire invites everyone to his wedding...The chairman of the board raises his glass to his able colleagues.' (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, by Chas & Suzi Harvey.)

Shall I mention last week's 'Beer Summit' at the White House at this point?

Sun Leo-Moon AQ is shared natally by Beatrix Potter, Jacqueline Susann, Melanie Griffith, Kate Bush, Jon Benet Ramsey, Menachim Begin, and John Galsworthy, who brilliantly observed:

"Idealism increases in direct proportion to one's distance from the problem."

Hah! A perfect description of our Capitol Hill politicians and their ideological sponsors when they try to 'fix' things for others and 'improve' thorny problems that are most often created for others by...politicians.

Especially the ones who rush to make war by dropping bombs they'll never themselves have to dodge.

Here is a website devoted to 11:11 info, if you're interested in learning more. I don't know all the content that's on the website, but what I've read is interesting in relation to 2011 and the much-touted Mayan Calendar of 2012.

Kennedy assassination revisited: Sun Sco-Moon AQ

Since noon today I've worked on a fresh look at the horoscope of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, if you're curious.

You may find that the Sun Sco-Moon AQ blend of Nov 22, 1963 tells us something about the day's flavor and the event's participants. Included are a few notes on the Solar Eclipse prior to the murder, an Eclipse which opposed US natal Pluto, planet of: sabotage, the Underworld, spies, nuclear devices, powerful puppetmasters, the Dragon guarding the riches, and invisible helmets.

And Pluto has a 'secret hand' identity as well, which is most useful to know in Mundane work.

As usual, the article is conveniently written in English for those who speak no astrologese, so please check it out in either language and let me know your thoughts...your insights will be much appreciated by this reluctant astrologer.

Barack Obama's Solar Return: August 4, 2009

In a cross-pollinating fit of blogginess today I've published something on President Obama's Solar Return 2009 chart but if you click its link, you'll first discover details on the Sun Leo-Moon Capricorn blend from his Solar Return chart.

Mr. Obama's natal Sun-Moon blend is Leo-Gemini which gives to his nature a Fire-Air combo of energies, and it doesn't change. But from his 2009 birthday, August 4, to the next birthday in 2010, he has Moon in ambitious Capricorn working with natal Sun in fiery Leo, sign of leadership - a Fire-Earth combination.

Guess you could think of my cross-pollinating as a scavenger hunt of some kind because from the above-linked post you may click through to the chart's image with details posted on Stars Over Washington, my primary Political Astrology blog since October 2005.

Or not. As you wish!

Astrology of Corporations Are People: May 10, 1886

Since I'm on the verge of signing off and enjoying the rest of the weekend, this is a mere heads-up about a fresh post at Stars Over Washington concerning Corporations Are People's natal chart of May 10, 1886.

American corporate law was given a big thrust forward on that day by a court reporter's off-hand comments which were published later with the Supreme Court's decision on taxing railroad property within the borders of Santa Clara County, California.

But see what you think - my post has one link in particular to Thom Hartmann's Op-Ed News article which discloses the shenanigans of legal-eagle politicians lurking in the back pockets of 1800s railroad titans.

No big surprise, agreed, but consider how we-the-people have suffered economically under their duplicitous plutocratic notions these many decades - and with a Saturnian-Neptunian pretend-law which goes totally against what America's Founders intended for our nation.

Of course, 'secret'/'invisible' (Neptune) government (Saturn) is the name of American corporations' game, the more I study it, and it's quite unsavory. Yet it isn't their actions as much as the motives behind them that tell the full tale.

So by that criteria, the tricksters and brigands of 1886 had motives with suspiciously bad intent and oppressive results for American workers and consumers, as we now understand all too well...now that the thoroughbreds have bolted and left only mules in our economic barn.

And this, along with world banking oligarchs who throttle our financial institutions, is what must be corrected for America to be America again, for our government's by-for-of does not and should not apply to any persons but we-the-people - so obviously the ones the Constitution was written to protect.

G8 Summit in Italy and L'Aquila, the Eagle

If you missed it, some info has been published concerning the G8 Summit being held in L'Aquila, Italy which begins tomorrow, Wednesday, July 8, 2009. All the muckedy-mucks will be in attendance amongst the earthquaked ruins of L'Aquila.

But somehow I think a swank hotel will be at their disposal, don't you? With perhaps a little spa action to relax their weary bones? Poor little Atlases, carrying the weight of the world upon their frail, mortal shoulders!

You'll find that the post includes a few details on the constellation Aquila, the Eagle, and its Alpha star, Altair, the risk-taker who's determined to achieve.

That golden G8 Summit membership: only risk-takers need apply.
