Two Hours' Most Viewed Post of All Time: Thom Yorke!

Since Radiohead continues to retain its Number One position as my Favorite Band, I am pleased to report that as of today, May 18, 2013, my post concerning Thom Yorke's Sun-Moon personality blend (which includes a video of his tune The Clock) is the most-viewed post ever on Two Hours You'll Never Get Back--and it won't take nearly two hours for you to check it out!

The post is nearing 2,000 views which is pretty good for a seldom updated blog.

A blip in false reality? Philip K. Dick on the Real "Matrix" (video)

Don't know if both readers of this blog have any interest in the narrative of a false reality such as author Philip K. Dick writes of in Blade Runner (my personal favorite) and The Matrix, but here he is speaking at a convention in 1977 (the year of Chiron's discovery!)

Perhaps I can snoop out the exact date he spoke and possibly outed the true "Matrix" because I'd like to compare the planets on that day with Mr. Dick's natal planets, you know? See what influences were prevailing for him then...

And yes, I do think that *Chiron, discovered at 3Tau08--'4Tau' = "A Rainbow's Pot of Gold" is significant to the topic of false reality. The Sabian Symbol for '4Tau' is about blending the celestial with the earthly and the lasting benefits that derive therefrom. Taurus is an Earth sign (practical; materialism) and is nicknamed The Builder, The Architect, and The Gardener.

The Taurean motto is I Grow and architects of our false reality know just what I'm talkin' 'bout! Then we have politicians and in particular Washington DC politicians who are the political arm of the Great Enterprise.

All in all, we could go on about these things but to sum up I'd have to say, It's our separation from God that is at the root of all our problems, depressions, and delusions.

Until a person becomes aware of that basic Truth and how distant they have become from The Source of All Life, then every human construct is false and unstable.

Eric Cantor, debt talks, and astro-blogging

The continuing 'debt talks' and debt default negotiations currently going on at the White House between Starve the Beast Republicans and President Obama have consumed what little blogging time I've had this week so I have not been hanging about here at 2Hrs lately. Mea culpa!

Of course, if America defaults on her debts on August 2, 2011 and the US credit rating is downgraded, no blogging may occur depending on results of the alleged dire consequences for our nation's economy and for the daily lives of our citizens. All the turmoil makes the economic situation a huge topic for bloggers, journalists, and pundits of all stripes which makes it easy as pie to find pro'n'con articles, blog posts, and op-eds by tossing a browser in any direction on the Web.

Then yesterday it occurred to me that a peek at the natal chart of Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor might provide an interesting cache of insights into the debt talks and what are said to be huffy 'walk outs' from the White House meetings, another of which occurred or will occur today, July 15, 2011. (A meeting, hopefully not a walk-out.)

Many of my own opinions about the economic crisis now roiling the US capital (and markets) are already formed at my advanced age yet I do like to snag further information on such topics from folks like Thom Hartmann, a progressive broadcaster of good repute, and my favorite go-to guy.

In a similar news vein, Democracy Now! fills the bill for gaining a clearer view of events than what corporate mainstream media provides us, and you may wish to check out Amy Goodman's excellent reporting there if you haven't.

What do Greta Garbo and Yasser Arafat have in common?

Two Worlds Collide: A Place Where Hollywood and Palestine Meet!

To answer my own question, and besides the fact that both Garbo and Arafat have passed into the Great Beyond, I was amused to find that today's Sun-Moon combination is shared natally by Greta Garbo and Yasser Arafat. Who knew?

This means that some facets of their personalities were the same or very similar in relation to their Sun (male principle) and Moon (feminine principle), a combo of energies relating to relationships on the conscious (Sun) and unconscious (Moon) levels. Relationships go better when these realms are integrated within the personality - another good reason to Know Thyself by having a natal chart consultation!

The Sun Virgo-Moon Taurus blend is also shared natally by Mother Teresa and Peter Sellers, also Great Beyonders!

But today, August 30, 2010, is sufficient unto itself and is quite alive with relationships and such, so let's take a peek at its energies:

Sun Vir-Moon Tau is a double Earth combo indicating its natives possess a down-to-earth quality of practicality; its shadow side gives deep fears of chaos and a loss of control. (Is this part of why Garbo decided she vahnted to be alone? She became quite a 'nun' during her lifetime which easily reminds me of Mother Teresa and the Image below!)

Sun Vir-Moon Tau gives one an excellent reasoning ability, common sense, resourcefulness, and a capacity for hard work. However, there is a tendency to be too rational and to have a wide materialistic streak with a 'black and white' type of thinking. There may be an addiction to routine and great stubbornness which appears when hierarchical relationships are ignored by others. How imperious!

"Actions speak louder than words" is a good motto for this sensible combo.

Thom Yorke: Sun Libra-Moon Aries + a music video 'The Clock'

Thom Yorke, guitarist and lead vocalist of my all-time favorite band, Radiohead, was born on Oct 7, 1968 in Wellingborough Northamptonshire, England. No birth time is publicly available, as far as I know, so I've done the usual - looked at the 24-hour period of his birth date to find the range of the Moon's degrees so that I can check out Sun-Moon blend details which follow...

Sun 13-15 Libra and Moon 19 - 26 Aries, an Air-Fire blend that's all about relationships.

Air-Fire combos are the 'live wire' blend of energies, full of exciting ideas and innovations, and we definitely see this in Mr Yorke's music. Cleverness, joie de vivre, and charisma accompany this blend, no matter the signs. In relationships intellectual rapport is required along with lots of freedom to follow one's individual interests. Managing people and getting exactly what is wanted is a talent with Libra/Aries; relationships are central so Yorke may depend on his partner (Rachel Owen) more than he cares to admit. Thrill is important as well, and he may seek excitement elsewhere if the spark leaves a relationship. However, Mr. Yorke is, I've read, very devoted to his children, Noah (born 2001) and Agnes, born in 2004, the year of a repetition of Yorke's Pre-Natal Solar Eclipse Series, the 6 South.

*6 South has a 'being forceful and taking power' flavor, plus, 'manic energy with great strength in relationships.' His quick mind, diplomatic skills, and ability to persuade are very useful within a desire for justice and commitment to defending the underdog. At 41 going on 42, I'm quite certain that by now he has grown up tremendously and discovered that he can still be true to himself in a relationship of equals.

Forensic Astrology and the case of Amanda Knox 12.5.09

This is merely a heads-up alert that an article concerning the sad Amanda Knox case and resulting guilty verdicts of last evening has been published after much study by yours truly.

The guilty verdicts against Ms. Knox and her former boyfriend, Rafaelle Sollecito, were delivered "shortly after midnight" in Perugia, Italy for the brutal murder of Meredith Kercher on the evening of Nov 1, 2007.

And although Forensic Astrology is an interest of mine, I consider myself to be barely fluent in its principles. Still, you may find a few notes of interest which are translated from astrologese to English for your consideration. Amanda Knox's natal data is included but with her precise birth time unknown, I've used a Noon chart for her natal planetary details. Meredith Kercher was born in London in Feb, 1986, but that's all the info I've found so far.

Mercury, our most important planet for love

Mercury, brainy planet of thinking processes, communications, and the senses, is not often thought of as the most important planet in a natal chart. But it is.

Elsewhere I've referred to speedy Mercury as the 'tofu planet' since it tends to soak up the flavors of whatever planets it contacts in a chart.

Take Mercury conjunct Pluto, for instance. George W. Bush as a 1st house (Self) conjunction in Leo of Mercury and Pluto, a pair which together can indicate mental obsessions, cruel speech, and spying tendencies. One of the obsessions is, I suspect, tremendous mental focus (Mercury) on acquiring wealth and possessions (Pluto) and Pluto is god of the Underworld, thus he doesn't care how he attains his desires - or whom it beggars.

Well, W certainly demonstrated such things while he played president, but lack of intelligence wasn't actually one of his shortcomings in spite of how he was marketed and critiqued. Deep (Pluto) thinking (Mercury) is one of the signatures of Mercury/Pluto along with propaganda meant to sway the thinking of others; the conj posited in his natal 1st house shows that Mercury/Pluto was he.

On a lighter mercurial note, expert astrologer Beth Turnage says that Mercury is important for making love last in relationships, so check out Beth's excellent article, for if you've ever had a relationship where communication or its lack caused major problems, you already know the importance of mercurial compatibility in relationships.

And as they say, sexual attraction begins in the brain!

Jay Leno April 28, 1950: debuts at 10 pm Tonight!

Okay, I got curious and had a sneak peek at Jay Leno's natal chart to see what's going on in the heavens with his debut tonight at 10 pm - quite the historical, if money-saving, TV event for NBC.

Born in New Rochelle, New York, on *April 28, 1950, Mr. Leno is an Earthy Sun Taurus-Moon Virgo fellow who has recently had a Saturn Return @ 12Vir50 on Sept 11, 2008. Natal Saturn is in 7th house of Partnerships with Moon 13Vir01 and Mars 22Vir11, and perhaps contract negotiations were on the menu then (n Sun in 2nd house of Money and Earning Ability.)

You may notice that his Mars is conjunct President Obama's natal Mars, so both conjunct US natal Neptune. Mars/Neptune hook-ups are excellent for 'rock star' reflections upon the screen of the public's imagination.

At 10 pm edt tonight, the Sun 22Vir23 will be spotlighting his natal Mars, a transit that indicates a surge of vitality and ego-gratification. Mr. Obama experienced the transit today as he spoke to Wall Street, and I mentioned this in my post on his 9.9.09 Address to a Joint Session of Congress - that the president's vitality and determination would receive a boost from this transit. (See third paragraph from the end of this post.)

Well, Pluto remains on his Direct Station degree (00Cap40 - Sep 11), so Mr. Leno's natal 11th cusp is being stimulated by Pluto while opposing natal Uranus 1Can59, a 'conflicts with those in power' transit. Perhaps powerful Pluto undergirds Leno's time slot change as well. It's been years since transiting Pluto conjoined his Career cusp at Midheaven 9Sag20, which you will note has one of the Royal Stars of Persia upon it: Fixed Star, Antares (keywords: obsessed with success.)

Pluto won't enter Leno's 12th house until he reaches 22Cap30; he may expect a loss (Pluto) of friends (11th house) during the transit, however (the voice of experience speaking here.)

This evening's Neptune 24AQ21 Rx and Chiron 22AQ16 Rx are snugged upon his natal ASC 22AQ57, which is either a dissolving influence, an indicator of entertainment and the masses, or simply a creative and inspirational infusion. If his 10 pm show is a hit with staying power, there will need to be more stable planetary support from other chart factors.

Yet Jupiter Rx @ 18AQ26 is poised to aid him later on and may be providing some 'guardian angel protection' (Jupiter) already since Leno's ASC was visited by Jolly Moneybags in April 2009 and will be so again in December 2009.

And given the hard work it has taken to produce the new version of the Tonight Show for the 10 pm time slot - as Saturn, Mercury (now Rx @ 2Lib54) and the Sun have plowed through his Saturn-Moon-Mars conjunction - it will be interesting to see if the sparkle and pizzaz of tonight's debut wears off soon (as I think it did with Conan O'Brien's revamping earlier this year, or maybe that's just me), or if the show continues to be a vehicle for Jay Leno's comedic inspirations.

Baby boomer fans will be happy, of course, to be heading to snoozyland 1 1/2 hours earlier, but are they messin' with a good thing just to save NBC a bunch of money? After all, the taping of such shows occur hours before air time, don't they?

As a teen-aged fan of the French language, Julia Child as The French Chef was right up my Champs Elysees, and I cooked up a few of her recipes as well...my best effort turned out to be her Chocolate Mousse, if you're wondering.

Update Saturday 8.8.09:

PBS is now showing episodes of Julia Child's PBS show as part of their pledge drive. She's about to cook a big fish now!

Natal chart: an unaspected Mars 18Vir53 in 5th house, conjunct the cusp and connected with 4th house of Domestic Scene; 4th house contains Sun 23Leo, Mercury 3Vir53 Rx, and Venus 4Vir25. The Mercury/Venus conj in Virgo indicates her ability to communicate pleasantly (Merc/Ven) on food and nurturing issues (Virgo); plus, Mercury is important as her natal chart-ruler. (Saturn so near ASC is chart-ruler, too.)

Sun in 4th house indicates her ability to 'shine' regarding Domestic Issues, and Moon 11Lib06 is placed in 5th house of Creative Ventures, a good Lunar position for one appearing on television creating recipes of deliciousness. Making her audience laugh (5th house) was good for the show, too, as she dropped chickens and broccoli on the floor and used them anyway. (My Mom loved that!)

You see the Jupiter/Saturn opposition right upn the ASC/DESC axis. Jup/Sat oppositions often indicate one whose life is divided into two halves, one Saturnian (her earlier life - ASC) and one Jupiterian, with n Jupiter happily placed in the guru's natural sign of Sagittarius. This describes her husband's (DESC) travels, too (Sag; Jupiter.)

With her relocation to France (Sag), her life began anew - first half, working hard with college and writing aspirations, second half much more Jupiterian as her cheffing talent came to the fore. Her first TV experience came around age 50, the approximate age at her Chiron Return, with Chiron 9Pis31 Rx, in 10th house of Career, which really picked up then. Pisces is sign sign of fish and...eels, and other squirmy marine animals such as snails which the French are so fond of.

(She's waxing poetic on TV now about the joys of eel - "if you catch it yourself, you have to skin it yourself." Right! But no thanks. No.)

In a 1989 Fresh Air interview replayed yesterday, she stated that she began cooking in her 30s upon arriving in France with her husband, and that French cooking came into vogue about then in part because of the Kennedys in the White House....it became 'chic.' So as mentioned above, you see the Grand Cross between Mercury/Venus, Jupiter, Chiron, and Ascendant, a planetary pattern which gives dynamic urges for self-expression, especially when an Angle of the natal chart is involved.

We might also include Saturn in this pattern as the opposing force to n Jupiter. Her concept of self-image had to evolve. And Saturn/ASC shows itself as the authority! In America, her book Mastering the Art of French Cooking is still the cadillac for French cuisine whose techniques are the bases of all cooking, as she informed us.

With a Grand Cross (aka, Square), the energies of the planets are filtered through the angle, in this case, n ASC, the lady herself. Here we see what it took to manifest her image so publicly in the world for The French Chef, because her communacative Gemini ASC is the persona that she demonstrated for the cameras.

A Jup/Sat opposition may also indicate weight gain, and as the lady said, "You can never have too much butter!" as Saturn's restriction and Jupiter's expansion vye for control at any given moment. One less pat, please! Yet her gusto for life is seen here, along with her enthusiastic Leonine Sun who loves to shine in the spotlight.

With Moon conjunct South Node the person must draw on their own resources, and well-planned disciplined work is a talent - needed for organizing her book and for the TV show. This gives a determined strength of character which is used to overcome obstacles encountered with Moon/SN. Solid accomlishments result from one's ability to use this conjunction wisely.

And "South Node" is the 'SN of the Moon', with Moon associated with public contacts.

Death chart: marked upon the chart is 'Angular Jupiter' and 'Moon conjunct Saturn' which I read as: Moon (physical body; a woman) stopped or ended (Saturn.) That Jupiter is often near an angle at the time of death is well-known.

A YOD ('Finger of God') pattern involving Chiron (the wounded healer archetype) is marked in green indicating a health crisis; a Mystic Rectangle of celestial beneficence surrounds her, and a Hard Rectangle of poor health is also notated as a prominent lady is released to her eternal rest.

There's also a T-Square formed at life's end...

Jupiter/Mc = Pluto (planet of death and transformation): publicity; potential for extraordinary achievement and recognition.

How well this picture sums up the life of a great and much-beloved lady, Julia Child.
