A Light Sprinkling of Artwork: Circe!

For a Monday, here's a light sprinkling of artwork via Prismacolor Oil Pencils and my fanciful figure studies series of drawings: Say Hello to Circe and Her Sisters:

Now you're always Welcome to drop by and browse my art portfolio of drawings at Jude Cowell Art @FineArtAmerica.

A peek at Jude's Sketchbook Project 2012!

Since late 2011, I've been perpetrating new drawings for my Sketchbook Project 2012 Limited Edition as sponsored by the Art House Co-op whenever I find time.

Here you see an initial online showing of a fraction of one of the drawings, working title, Fractured Girl. She seems to have a bit of a 'seer' attitude, doncha think? Well, many of my drawings do unless they're of a more realistic botanical nature.

So if one day you should visit the Brooklyn Art Library you may look up my offering and see the entire shebang as you wish--an old-fashioned 'hard copy', that is!

Here are some particulars:

Brooklyn Art Library
103A N. 3rd St
Brooklyn, NY 11249

Also check out The Sketchbook Project online for I know you're about to get your Sketchbook in the mail by April 30, 2012 if you're part of the Limited Edition group. Having just completed documenting all the images, I shall mail mine this week if all goes as planned.

Fun Note: Sketchbook Project's Art Book Series is scheduled to be published in Fall 2012!

An Artist's Portrait of Gene Tierney

Is it overly brazen of me to publish my pencil portrait of actress Gene Tierney drawn in 1982? That's thirty years ago! Oh, well. Here I go celebrating the beginning of 2012 with an antique image from 1982...because I always thought Ms. Tierney was one of the prettiest actresses around!

Gene Tierney's Wiki page states that she was "acclaimed as one of the great beauties of her day" or some such flattery. Check out the scoop on the star of the film Laura which still makes it into the Top Ten of many a movie buff's list!

Well, this may be my first post of 2012 on Two Hours, but with all that's going on in Politics, you know I'm often to be found at my primary Political Astrology blog Stars Over Washington, or alternately at Jude's Threshold, right? ;p

How dull! Now why can't I write like that?

~
Last year I caught up with the rest of the world and became vaguely aware of The Dullest Blog in the World. Today I thought to visit the blog and am blown away by its direct, unvarnished writing style and delivery of totally mundane information. The parody is clear and yet I must ask:

Now why can't I write like that?

Or perhaps I do but am completely unaware of just how uninteresting my ten blogs' content and writing style are...wouldn't surprise me.

Well, crum. Whenever I tire of verbage, I tend to turn to my drawing activities so here's a doodle done in pen for the hapless person reading this boring post and wishing their click had resulted in more varied content...this one's for You!

And Also Art by Jude Cowell with the Ant People I've drawn since high school days, for some unknown reason. Can you tell I was my school's newspaper cartoonist way back when? Thought not.

January 2011: still blogging about America

~
Happy Belated New Year 2011 to you and yours!

Today I've been blogging at my Political Astrology blog Stars Over Washington with little chance to consider topics other than the Jan 8, 2011 tragedy in Tucson, AZ against Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and others, the Moment of Silence held at 11:00 am est this morning in Washington DC, and the Right vs Left rhetoric about violence in the US which is being used now as yet another tactic to keep the American people divided and conquered on these issues...which is meant to keep those in power - in power.

So if you dare, you may wish to read today's post on such events which includes an image of the horoscope of Congress' secret session of March 13, 2008 when members discussed what they'd do for their own security when the people revolted (as noted at the time by Rep. Ron Paul) against congressional sorriness.

This secret session preceded Financial Collapse 2008 by weeks, as you see by its date, and I believe it has implications for the issues being discussed about our current tragedy and subsequent security changes which are said to be in discussion in the House this very week. It's tragic that a young man's frustration and distrust of government led to violence with political 'crosshairs' and 'reload' references encouraging the mentally and emotionally unstable among us to take action.

Now on a much better topic: you may notice a new link in the Two Hours sidebar, upper right, helpfully leading you to the VitaCost website where excellent deals on vitamins, supplements, and other health-improving items may be found!

My latest blog creations? Cosmic Lilith Art, and feel free to check out my new science-y/poem-y blog, Woolly Mammoth Chronicles at your leisure....especially if Science's current project to clone a woolly mammoth concerns you, too.

Of Comets Green and Art Unscene

~
Whew! It's been since October 20 that I posted here on Two Hours and my how the year has flown by. For instance, you might be interested in the revelation of first images of Comet Hartley (the 'green comet') today at 4:00 pm edt as presented by NASA:

COMET HARTLEY UPDATE: NASA's Deep Impact (EPOXI) probe is closing in on Comet Hartley 2 for a daring flyby on Nov. 4th. The small but active comet is full of surprises, with spinning jets, geysers of cyanide gas, and a strangely pickle-shaped core. Mission scientists expect to reveal first images from the flyby during a press conference on Thursday afternoon, around 4 pm EDT.

Tune into NASA TV to follow events live, and meanwhile read this story for a preview.

Drawing: Comet Skies from my Unscene World series.

Happy Comet Viewing!

Now appearing: Cosmic Lilith Art Calendar 2011!

~

Design a personalized gift at Zazzle.

Having just updated my Zazzle Panel of artful stuff, I'm posting it here experimentally to see if I prefer its newer style to the previous one.

Then click for a browse in my Art Shop, if you wish, and you'll view my latest offering published this very day: a Cosmic Lilith Art Calendar 2011 displaying 12 pencil portaits of glamorous ladies, one for each month of the year - for ages 17+, btw.

(If you don't immediately see Cosmic Lilith Art Calendar 2011, simply click on the Folder or sidebar link that says, Art Calendars. Plus, Lilith and friends will begin cycling through the images in the above zPanel at some point in time.)

The archetype of Lilith in Astrology and Mythology can display many faces but my all-time fave has to be her glam persona. And you know that Lilith's cosmic calendar makes a great gift, too.

Plus, January 1, 2011 will be upon us before we know it, so you may wish to be artfully pre-prepared on Day One.

But for now, your glamorous Lilith ladies await!

Note: If you're mature and sophisticated, you might just enjoy a browse of some new 'fanciful figure studies' in the gallery @ Cosmic Persona Designs where you'll discover Boudoir Blossoms character portraits and other drawings in the Cosmo-Erotic, Chiffonery Art, and Cosmic archetypal and mythical realms, for the illustrations 'happen' whenever I think of drawing something sedate for those of an adult persuasion.

For Children's Art my portfolio includes: Fairy, Moon, Cosmic, and even Botanical Art (both flowery and fishy) and much of it resides primarily in two spots on the Web:

Secret Moon Art and

Dreamyfish Art...so perhaps I'll see you there or there, hmm?

For Spring EQ 2010: 'Rainy Day Art Cube' by Jude Cowell

Your pictures and fotos in a slideshow on MySpace, eBay, Facebook or your website!view all pictures of this slideshow

Thought you might enjoy a newly created 'Rainy Day Art Cube' of mine!

Am still in Astrology Day Blogathon 2010 mode since the carnival of informative articles authored by a variety of astrologers doesn't go Live until Friday March 19, 2010 and there are more preparations under way as I type!

Now that last was a Chiron-inspired statement, wasn't it? Be Here NOW, says He.

Why, I think the ongoing and inspirational Neptune-Chiron conjunction in Aquarius is about to have even more beneficial effects upon a harried collective...it is to be hoped! jc

Snow! in Photo and Art

``
With the Northeast due for yet another snowstorm, I'm in Georgia with snowflakes on my mind...

Snowy photo courtesy of Maya Henderson, drawing Snowy Path by yours truly...

Then there's my totally untested theory that whatever sort of weather a baby is born into (or is greeted by when brought home from the hospital) is the kind they're fascinated by. In Maya's and my cases, it was snow...hers in Washington DC, mine in Athens, GA.

Not conclusive but I'm sticking it to it like snow clinging to a cold treetop!

Return of the 'Revolving Art Cube' by Jude Cowell!

This 'Revolving Art Cube' as I named it was put together some time ago from a few of my Cosmic Persona Designs images but I just wanted to make it handy again for my own re-viewing!

The Cosmic Persona Designs collection is for age 17+ only please~~an Adult Content Warning must be clicked through to reach the gallery of drawings (no photos, only artwork; no digital, only pencil drawings), so ask yourself if you're feeling all that lucky...

If the Art Cube looks topsy turvy use your browser to coax it about, speed it up, or slow it down.

view 'Mandalan Art' with a Psychedelic flavor!

~~

Imperfect Mandala, a drawing by Jude Cowell.

When Mandelbrot-inspired mandalas operate as Art images for sparking such things as meditations, eye-brain stimulations, or for simple visual enjoyment of creative images, then we know the Universe still works in harmony at least some of the time, in spite of all man can do!

Have you ever seen this dynamic collection of what I call 'Mandalan Art'?

Click for a few bright examples available there for your viewing pleasure with only a secure click, for I've this very evening discovered the Art Work @ Spirit Mythos and I recommend it to you!

My hope is to find more Mandalan Art of Psychedelic yet charming vibes and locate the links here for you or in my Secret Moon Art gallery online, if you prefer. Peruse the Art Links in the sidebar next time you drop in.

Thing is, 'Mandalan Art' is only what I'm calling it; I'm not sure if anyone else does. And the digital Artist of the Moment at Spirit Mythos undoubtedly has alternate ideas of how to describe their work, don't you think?

So when you reach the Spirit Mythos gallery, click icons to enlarge images of the colorful mandalas for they're so el perfecto for gazing upon and chillaxing your brain a while...

and tell them old Jude Cowell sent ya because I feel you'll like the interesting Art images of Spirit Mythos!

A Wild Animal necktie makes you say, Rrraowrrrrr!

~~~
Zeeks! Confession: I am getting a bit more into necktie designing mode and have just converted one of my wild animal designs Predator at Dusk into a mens or ladies fashion necktie, if you're feeling a bit on the artsy-slinky side while dressing for something special, or if your old suits need perking.
Predator at Dusk is the first non-Dreamyfish Art image in my Zazzle Art Store so drop by to browse when you may...you'll see I've gone from fish to tiger! And I may try the tigery Predator design as a Mousepad image, too.
'He' won't be too scary, I think, even though it will be a Cat vs Mouse situation...
SkyWriter features Secret Moon Art - woot!
~~~
What an honor for this hidden-away unknown artist of the pencil persuasion to have her Cosmic and Moon Art featured on world class astrologer Donna Cunningham's SkyWriter blog and I want to cordially invite you to view our collaboration When Art and Astrology Combine!

And please follow the link provided within the article if you wish to view a special Art Show for Donna's excellent SkyWriter readers, for as I've brazenly asserted before, everyone should take an occasional, leisurely Art Break to soothe the savage beast within and rest the weary eyes...how better than with Visionary Art images?

Jude, your artist for the moment

ps: today I've been tweaking my Jude Cowell Art Shop at Zazzle, if you'd care for a browse before the holidays are upon us.

And have you ever seen men's ties with Dreamyfish Art images upon them? Of course not, for I've just designed and created them, along with black T-shirts, wall art posters, Greeting Cards, and 'fishy' Mousepads for your office, so do mosey over when you may and check back often for new offerings.

Oh, and have fun customizing my designs how you like if you please!

You may wish to check out my newly created Art Slideshow on Bebo, a social networking site I've never investigated until this evening and know very little about - but I hope to learn.

So will the above link whisk you away to view my slideshow...or leave you stranded on a lonely cyber highway? Hope your cell phone is fully charged because you'll be a long way off without directions if it doesn't send ya!

3. Darianna Downey

'Cat Archaeologist' imported from TwitPic for reasons unknown

'Cat Archaeologist' collage in paper by Jude Cowell 2009+ on Twitpic

Now here's a small blogging experiment: I'm importing then re-publishing Cat Archaeologist from TwitPic just to see how things go.

(Update Monday: so far, not going - TwitPic link isn't live and I've yet to figure out why...more sleuthing later may repair the madness, till then go to Twitter to find TwitPic if you wish.)

Original post continues here...

Yes, TwitPic: a feature of Twitter but for uploading images.

Actually, I think that only one other example of my drawing efforts is now on display at TwitPic for the site's requirements cropped it rather savagely to squish the little pixels into a square peephole similar to the one you see here.

Voila! Rectangle displays as a square shape.

The other drawing Fonda and Friends was sold at auction in 2008 anyway so you missed the skiff on that one, matey...it sailed off with out ya!

Dude.

But if you're 17+ in years you may mosey by Cosmic Persona Designs for a brief tour of a lonely little Chiffonery Art Gallery where you'll find a list of alphabetized labels by theme and title so you may wander as you may.

Do feel free to click upon one or two of them for better viewing, if you so desire...

~:~

If you need suggestions, here are three: Elsa Backstage, Sarah's Green Party, or perhaps Trixie in Repose.

Now all my images are only Art Designs in Drawing form: no photographs need apply, none taken, and no one the wiser. jc

~:~

Some Disclosure May Be Necessary: you don't actually have to read this post at all since its title tells you there's nothing to discover herein by way of explanation for this deplorable situation of importage of my own artwork to this blog.

So why are you reading this?
