Hope for the Hopeless? (music video)

At last I thought to return to YouTube to search for Brett Dennen's performance on David Letterman from a while back. You see, when the music (and the beat) combine with apples-of-gold-in-pictures-of-silver lyrics that actually say something on behalf of human kind, the song often becomes a perennial favorite of mine.

Here, Heaven is performed live on Letterman and if you're unfamiliar with the song's message, perhaps you'll give a listen!

This song debuted pre-Occupy days, of course, but its message seems quite applicable to 99%/1% issues to this particular blogger whose nature is to operate within a Common Good persuasion.

Plus, here's another version of Heaven which I posted about 3 years ago including an interview with Brett Dennen if you're curious.

Astrologer Julie Demboski on the Dylan/Baez relationship

~~

As you may know, one of my top-fave astrologers is Julie Demboski, now working on her new book which concerns the asteroid Juno, one of the wife archetypes of the zodiac (Hera being the Greek version.)

As Julie points out, astrological Juno isn't only about marriage, it's about sussing out one's power potential in a relationship. Well, this meshes partially with something I read years ago (and can't remember where, or who wrote it) - that Juno in Mundane (Political) Astrology is about abusing power - and represents either the abused, or the abuser.

Well, I was just snooping around one of Julie's blogs and discovered her article on the relationship between Bob Dylan and Joan Baez, a very useful synastric peek under the hood of one of pop music's all-time famous couples, even though they didn't last as an item.

Don't want to check out Julie's article on Dylan/Baez just now?

Well, don't think twice. It's all right.

But you know you really want to, right? ;p

The projections of Neptune/Chiron

Woo! The trap of projecting all sorts of our own baggage onto others is very strong right now with the transiting on-again-off-again conjunction of Neptune and Chiron, says Julie Demboski who has clearly done much worthwhile pondering upon the issues.

And wouldn't we come out better if everyone freely admitted that as long as we can 'download' our own weaknesses and flaws onto another's to-do list, we for a time imagine we escape the responsibility for our misdirected actions and for the procrastinating lack of any action or effort toward change at all!

Mia Farrow and Richard Branson under the astrologer's lens

What a post from astrologer Julie Demboski on the baton of hunger strikes now being passed from Mia Farrow to Richard Branson with images of their natal horoscopes included.

Julie notes that both celebrities' natal charts contain signatures of warrior energy through various chart factors, and the current transits of idealistic Neptune and experiential Chiron in tandem are part of the picture as well.

Fascinating stuff from one of our most astute astrologers so check it out!
